Chase Business Credit Card Reviews

Chase offers many of the most lucrative business credit cards on the market today — so many, in fact, that picking the right one can be overwhelming.

Chase Ultimate Rewards® points are worth 1.8 cents apiece on average for their flexibility and travel value. Here's how we recommend cardholders earn, redeem, and maximize Chase Ultimate Rewards points for top value.

Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card

The Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card is one of the best business cards on the market, especially for small business owners interested in earning and using Chase Ultimate Rewards points.

The Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card offers the most valuable welcome offers out of all the cards on this list. New cardmembers can earn 90,000 bonus points after spending $8,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. This bonus is worth at least $1,620, based on Business Insider's valuations, if you transfer your points to one of Chase's airline or hotel partners.

The card also comes with generous supplemental benefits that can save you a lot of money. The included credit card travel insurance benefit can help you recoup lost expenses when trips go awry. Meanwhile, cellphone protection and Chase purchase protection offer peace of mind for your smartphone, TV monitors, computers, and other valuable business assets.

Along with the big welcome offer, Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card cardholders 3 points per dollar on shipping purchases; advertising purchases on social media sites and search engines; Internet, cable, and phone services; and travel expenses including airfare, hotels, rental cars, and more. They earn 1 point per dollar on all other purchases.

Rewards on 3x categories are capped at $150,000 in combined spending each year (450,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points), after which you'll earn 1 point per dollar.

The Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card carries an annual fee of $95 — low for the generous benefits you get with this card.

However, the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card does not offer an introductory 0% APR interest period. If you want to pay off a large expense over time without incurring interest, consider one of the two other Ink cards we recommend below.

If you want to learn more about this card, read our full Chase Ink Business Preferred card review for more details.

Ink Business Cash® Credit Card

The Ink Business Cash® Credit Card tops our list of the best 5% cash back credit cards for small business purchases. This card earns 5% cash back on some purchase categories and comes with a generous welcome bonus, all without an annual fee. You can supercharge your rewards if your company spends a lot at office supply stores, gas stations, and restaurants, or on cable, Internet, and phone services.

While the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card is a cash-back credit card, rewards come in the form of Chase Ultimate Rewards points, which can be redeemed like cash at a 1:1 ratio of one point per cent.

Ink Business Cash® Credit Card cardholders earn rewards at the following rates:

  • 5% cash back (5 points per dollar) on the first $25,000 spent (then 1x) in combined purchases at office supply stores and on Internet, cable, and phone services each account anniversary year
  • 2% cash back (2 points per dollar) on the first $25,000 spent (then 1x) in combined purchases at gas stations and restaurants each account anniversary year
  • 1% cash back (1 point per dollar) on all other purchases with no cap

New Ink Business Cash® Credit Card cardholders earn $350 when you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first three months and an additional $400 when you spend $6,000 on purchases in the first six months after account opening, worth $750 by Business Insider valuations. You can also take advantage of this card's introductory offer of 0% intro APR on purchases for the first 12 months (then 17.49% - 25.49% Variable APR). This no-interest period can be especially useful for entrepreneurs with large expenses looming ahead.

The Ink Business Cash® Credit Card comes with a foreign transaction fee, so leave this card at home on your next international business trip.

Check out our comprehensive Chase Ink Business Cash credit card review for a more in-depth look at this great card.

Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card

Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card is an excellent choice for small business owners seeking a card with a straightforward earning structure and no annual fee — and it comes with a solid welcome bonus.

The Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card is nearly identical to the last card we reviewed, with one major difference: With the Ink Unlimited, you'll earn 1.5% cash back on all purchases, simple as that.

New cardholders earn $750 bonus cash back after you spend $6,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening — an incredible deal for a no-annual-fee card. New cardholders also benefit from a 0% intro APR on purchases for the first 12 months (then 17.49% - 23.49% Variable APR). However, the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card charges a foreign transaction fee, so this is not a card to take abroad.

Check out our Ink Business Unlimited credit card review for a deeper dive into the card.

The Ink Business Cash® Credit Card and the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card both earn cash back in the form of Chase Ultimate Rewards points, which can be worth far more than the standard value of 1 cent apiece.

You can combine Chase Ultimate Rewards points earned from either card to one of Chase's higher-end travel rewards cards, such as the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card or the personal Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card. From there, you can use your points to purchase travel within the Chase Travel℠ Portal, or transfer points to Chase's airline and hotel partners for additional value.

World of Hyatt Business Credit Card

The World of Hyatt Business Credit Card credit card is a solid choice for Hyatt hotel enthusiasts, especially if you can maximize the card's benefits. Cardholders earn World of Hyatt points at the following rate:

  • 4x points per $1 on qualified purchases at Hyatt hotels. Plus, up to 5 points from Hyatt per eligible $1 spent just for being a World of Hyatt member
  • 2x points per $1 spent in your top three spend categories each quarter
  • 2x points per $1 spent on fitness club and gym memberships
  • 1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases.

The World of Hyatt Business Credit Card also comes with generous benefits for its price point, including:

  • Up to $100 in Hyatt statement credits each year
  • Complimentary Discoverist elite status
  • 5 tier-qualifying night credits for every $10,000 spent in a calendar year

The current welcome bonus for this card is 60,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening, plus 1 free night at any category 1-4 Hyatt hotel after spending $15,000 on purchases within the first six months of account opening. Those points are worth at least two free nights at a top-tier Hyatt hotel, or even more free nights at lower-tier properties.

For a full rundown of the card, read our World of Hyatt Business credit card review.

IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card

If you regularly stay at IHG hotels, you should give serious thought to the IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card. This card offers a substantial welcome bonus, and cardholders can earn up to 26x points on purchases at IHG Hotels and Resorts. That's a lot of value from a card with a low annual fee, making it a great choice for any IHG loyalist.

IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card cardholders earn IHG points at the following rates:

  • 10x points at IHG Hotels and Resorts
  • 5x points on travel and at gas stations, dining, social media and search engine advertising, and at office supply stores
  • 3x points for all other eligible purchases

The card also comes with other benefits that enhance its value, including one complimentary anniversary night each year; your 4th night free on reward stays (when redeeming three nights); an additional free night award worth up to 40,000 points; and platinum elite status with IHG.

IHG points aren't as valuable as those from competitor brands, even though the earning rate on the IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card can sound impressive. The current IHG One Rewards points value hovers at an average of just 0.65 cents per point.

The card's current welcome bonus is 140,000 bonus points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening, making it one of the best hotel credit card offers available right now. This IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card has an annual fee of $99.

Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Performance Business Credit Card

If you're a serious Southwest traveler in the market for a business card, take a good look at the Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Performance Business Credit Card.

This card packs a big punch, with premium benefits to offset the higher annual fee. Best of all, every point earned from spending on the Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Performance Business Credit Card counts toward the coveted Southwest Companion Pass.

Cardholders earn Rapid Rewards points at the following rate:

  • 4x points on Southwest purchases including flights, in-flight purchases, gift cards, and Southwest Vacations
  • 3x points on Rapid Rewards hotel and car partners
  • 2x points on local transit and commuting, including rideshares, passenger trains, buses, taxis, limousines, ferries, toll bridges and highways, and parking lots and garages
  • 2x points on social media and search engine advertising, internet, cable, and phone services
  • 1x point per dollar everywhere else

The Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Performance Business Credit Card offers a generous range of benefits, including:

  • 365 credits toward in-flight Wi-Fi access

The Wi-Fi benefit is particularly valuable for entrepreneurs who work while traveling, since Southwest charges $8 per flight per device for onboard Internet access.

The Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Performance Business Credit Card may not be a great fit for infrequent Southwest travelers. If you want to earn Southwest points through your business but don't anticipate flying with this airline very often, the Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Premier Business Credit Card may be a better card to consider.

The Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Performance Business Credit Card offers new cardholders 80,000 points after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. Business Insider values Southwest points at about 1.4 cents each, making this welcome bonus a generous opportunity to jumpstart or enhance your stash of Rapid Rewards points.

The card has an annual fee of $199.

Why Choose a Chase Business Credit Card?

Chase business credit cards offer fantastic value for the right small business owners. Many come with great business-specific benefits such as free employee cards, purchase protection, and extended warranty coverage on technology expenses such as laptops, TVs, and computer monitors.

You can also earn generous welcome bonuses worth thousands of dollars when signing up for new cards through Chase. Best of all, certain Chase cards earn Chase Ultimate Rewards, which are some of the most valuable rewards in the ecosystem thanks to flexible points that can be used for maximum value through Chase transfer partners.

How to Choose the Best Chase Business Credit Card for Your Business

When considering a Chase business credit card, consider your company's spending habits and travel needs to determine which option best aligns with your financial structure. If you exclusively fly Southwest for business and personal travel, the Southwest cards are a good choice. But if you ever utilize other airlines, a Chase Ink business card may be a better fit.

Analyze your typical monthly business spending as well as your personal and business travel or commute to find the best ways to maximize potential rewards or minimize risk and loss.

Your tolerance for an annual fee can also help you determine which card is best for your business.

Qualifying for a Chase Business Credit Card

Opening a business credit card is a wise decision, and qualifying for a business card is easier than you might think.

You don't need to run a multimillion-dollar operation or even have an LLC to be eligible for a small business credit card. Sole proprietors or those with side gigs like blogging, babysitting, freelancing, and Uber driving can qualify you for such cards. And you can apply with just your Social Security Number (SSN); an Employer Identification Number (EIN) isn't mandatory.

When applying for a business credit card on this list, be aware of the Chase "5/24 rule," which states that you won't be approved for a Chase credit card if you've opened five or more credit cards from any bank (excluding most business credit cards) in the past 24 months.

All Chase business cards are subject to the 5/24 rule, but do not contribute toward the 5/24 count.

How to Pick a Chase Small Business Credit Card

Picking the right Chase small business credit card for you is about finding the one that aligns most with your spending habits and financial and travel goals.

It's wise to evaluate your business spending patterns and consider your biggest expenses. If you spend a lot at office supply stores, the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card is likely your best bet. Are you trying to earn the Southwest Companion Pass? The Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Performance Business Credit Card will help you get there.

Don't forget to consider your personal needs when evaluating foreign transaction fees, introductory APRs, and other benefits or downsides.

How to Apply for a Chase Business Credit Card

Applying for a Chase business credit card is straightforward. You'll be asked to provide personal information like your name, SSN, date of birth, and address, along with business information like your business name and revenue and your EIN (if applicable).

It's important to note that you'll always be personally liable for any charges made on your Chase business credit card. Either way, Chase will evaluate your personal credit when you apply.
